The landscape conditions required a careful handling of the property. A cluster was used to embed intergenerational forms of living with an identity-forming character.

Project data

The design envisaged the creation of a neighborhood that integrates into the townscape with a measured expression and yet captivates with its own identity. The hillside location opens up a variety of uses with different living levels, room heights and flexible floor plans in the individual residential units. A restrained color and material concept as well as simple, clear details define a striking and contemporary architecture, which ensured a trouble-free implementation even when realized in sections.

The urban structure and arrangement of the buildings is derived from the course of Hangstraße and the surrounding structures of the neighborhood. The six double- and three-story buildings are clearly and uniformly structured and have a restrained appearance. The height of the Aidenbergsteige remains undeveloped and maintains its panoramic view of Weissach. New and indirect stairways open up new connection possibilities to the surroundings. The created neighborhood center with play area can be connected with a publicly usable path connection into the valley.

The energy concept combines a combined heat and power plant (biogas) and an air-source heat pump. The heat generated is used to heat drinking water for the individual residential units. The heat pump enables the temperature to be regulated at different times of the year. To support the system, a photovoltaic system is installed on the roof surfaces.
