Four villas with 180-degree views of Lake Maggiore and the Italian Alps are being built in the picturesque Italian municipality of Oggebbio in Piedmont. The design is characterized by the view of nature.

Project data

Overall integration

The location of the project in the picturesque Italian municipality of Oggebbio in Piedmont is also the key to the design of the four villas due to its steep development with a total height difference of 15 meters between the lowest and highest points. The staggered embedding in the slope makes it possible to enjoy the beautiful and harmonious view of the lake from all four apartments. The project name is almost self-evident: "Viste sul lago" - lake view.

Architectural concept

The site is divided into four equal parts. All four structures are arranged parallel to each other and to the existing buildings. They will also all have the same amenities: two private parking spaces each, a large outdoor area on each side of the house, sufficient distance from the other houses and an infinity pool that blends in with the rest of the project as part of the terraces. The surface of the water seems to stretch into infinity and becomes a picture frame for the reflection of the mountain ridges opposite.

The 180-degree view of the landscape skillfully showcases the beauty of Lake Maggiore, the small towns on the lake shore, the green forests and the Italian Alps. The houses themselves do not vie for attention, as if they know that they have to take a back seat to the mighty nature. And yet they become part of it, offering their residents comfortable and absolutely aesthetic living qualities.

Development

The floor plan of the villas is accessed from the west side and has a large entrance hall that serves as a separating element between the more private sleeping area and the living area, which is completely open to the landscape. The large open space on the south-east side enjoys plenty of natural light and is both visually and physically connected to the pool via the large terrace.

Materiality

The material concept follows the overarching idea of staging nature. Raw materials were chosen that characterize the location itself: Natural stone and wood, mixed with visible reinforced concrete.
