Residential house G1 in Goeppingen. A family house with a special flair.
The renovation and combination of modern architecture with the existing fabric of a house from the twenties was the task set. A handsome solution was developed that preserves the exterior appearance and character of the house with the flair of a city villa.
Project dataDue to the older year of construction of the house, a comprehensive technical and energetic renovation was unavoidable. The client's concrete ideas and wishes for the design of the rooms were carefully combined with the limiting conditions of the attractive old building. Typical existing small-scale room structures required clever structural solutions for the realization of airy living spaces.
In order to meet the high requirements of technical and energy standards, windows, heating systems, electrical lines and insulation, among other things, were completely renewed.
The client's desire for a spacious floor plan was met. By removing several walls on the first floor, a room constellation with an open kitchen, living and dining area was created. On the upper floor, generous floor space dimensions were also realized for the bedrooms and bathrooms. The attic appears as a large space in loft style.
By setting historical accents in the interiors, the character of the house was preserved: For example, the staircase is based on the old wooden staircase. The original handles of the original doors and windows were also used.
