Residential buildings Stauferpark 311 and 312 in Goeppingen. Upgrading of a former military housing estate.
The conversion of vacated military sites also included the redevelopment of former housing estates for military personnel and their families. We were entrusted with this task on several occasions.
Project dataThe municipal housing company had acquired the former military housing estate after the withdrawal of the US forces in 1994/95. As a sub-project within a conversation program planned for several years, Wohnbau GmbH Goeppingen initially commissioned the comprehensive refurbishment of the buildings Stauferpark 311 and 312. The complete planning and the first refurbishment phase were still implemented by the predecessor office Alois Gaus.
These two apartment buildings are buildings with a length of more than 80 meters in formerly typical barracks architecture. The buildings were completely modernized, including the refurbishment of all bathroom and sanitary facilities in the housing stock.
Additional residential units were created by adding storeys to the buildings in timber frame construction. With attractive roof terraces and a fresh external appearance in a strong color scheme, the former "barracks look" has disappeared. All measures were implemented while the buildings were occupied, which required very special construction schedules.
