Residential and commercial building in Überlingen. Location on the lake promenade with the highest potential.
The building at Seepromenade 11 in Überlingen tells stories that go back to the beginning of the 17th century, when it was originally built as an inn.
Project dataIn the meantime, it was used as a manor house by the Cistercian monastery in Wald and later served as a barn and stables before being converted to residential use in the 20th century. In 1920, it came into the possession of the Oexle family, who have looked after it for over a century since then.
Initially used as a home for the haulage business, the first floor of the building has housed a restaurant since 1957, while the upper floors have remained unused.
The building was to be given a new lease of life without losing the memories of times gone by.
Upcycling played an important role here: existing support structures were carefully restored and historic furniture was given a new purpose. Old wooden beams and insignia were harmoniously integrated to preserve the authentic charm of the building and build a bridge between past and present.
