All-round architectural mediation

A whole nine concepts for a bungalow-style villa in one morning - that's how productive nine up-and-coming architects from Hohenstaufen-Gymnasium Goeppingen were when they visited us for a morning as part of Career Information Day 2023.

In addition to the design task, where the students were allowed to draw a floor plan and put together a material concept, we shared ideas about the meaning of architecture and what makes our office Gaus Architekten tick.

Significant questions for significant tasks

Between the office tour, pretzels and architecture memory, there was always time for a short question from the students. For example, whether planting on facades also contributes to the sustainability of architecture. And why schools are often so sparsely greened. Or why so little daylight often finds its way into school buildings.

Yes, why actually? Perhaps we should seek out precisely this exchange more often. After all, the coming generation is the future.

We, for one, are thrilled by the exchange and the creativity of the young people in their designs. And in response to the question "Do you have any suggestions for improving our career information day?" the final responses included: "No, just great!" and "It was a lot of fun."

We can only return that. And we look forward to the future.
