We are delighted to announce that our project on the lakeside promenade in Überlingen has been awarded the prestigious prize for "Exemplary Building" in the Lake Constance district. This award, presented by the Baden-Württemberg Chamber of Architects and the Lake Constance District Office, recognizes buildings that impress with their outstanding architectural quality and positive contribution to the urban environment.

The award-winning building tells a story that dates back to 1847. Originally used as a barn and stable, it was later converted into a restaurant. Our task was to carefully modernize this historical heritage while preserving the charm of times gone by. The result is a contemporary space that combines gastronomy, seminars and vacation apartments on four levels - in close proximity to Lake Constance.

The renovation placed particular emphasis on preserving old building elements such as historic wooden structures and combining them with modern architecture. Large, floor-to-ceiling windows create a close connection to the lake and bring light and space into the rooms. The upper floors in particular offer a unique experience with their impressive views.

The biggest challenge was to preserve the character of the building while meeting modern requirements in terms of space, light and functionality. The roof was raised and the façade redesigned to create more space and brightness. Elements such as the historic tennis gate, which now serves as a source of light, are examples of how old and new have been harmoniously combined.

This award confirms our efforts to realize projects that are not only functional and aesthetic, but also sustainable and future-oriented. It shows that tradition and modernity can merge in architecture in an impressive way.

We would like to thank everyone involved for the excellent cooperation and look forward to further forward-looking projects.
