No ordinary evening at the district office Goeppingen

For us, 01.06.2022 is a day we have been looking forward to for a long time. After a somewhat shorter working day, we go home to get dressed up for the evening - the calendar reminds us of the date we entered many months ago: award ceremony for exemplary construction at the district office Goeppingen.

Carmen Mundorff, Managing Director of the Baden-Württemberg Chamber of Architects, together with District Administrator Edgar Wolff and Jury Chair Prof. Susanne Dürr, will present a total of 24 awards for exemplary building in the district of Goeppingen within the years 2014 - 2021.

Four awards:
Gratitude - and pride.

We already know in advance that as many as four of our projects will be recognized as "exemplary". We can only gratefully accept this recognition of our work. It shows us that we are on the right track. Our architecture is well received and we can live up to our claim: To create good architecture that puts people at the center.

On such days, the efforts and struggles during the construction phase are forgotten. We forget the short nights analyzing, understanding, optimizing. We forget the setbacks, the difficult phases, even the conflicts that we could not avoid. On such days we forget - but above all: we remember.

We remember good cooperation, we remember results and breakthroughs, we remember progress that can be experienced.
We remember the moment of the idea. And the moment when we stood in front of the finished building for the first time. On days like these, we can be grateful. And proud.

Four projects that show all our skills

Our awarded projects give a good representation of our range of services:

The fire station Bad Boll is a young building for the fire department in Bad Boll , which combines aesthetics and functionality in a minimalist shell of exposed concrete to create ideal conditions for the everyday life of the fire department and the community.

The community kindergarten ""Im Töbele"" is one of our many educational buildings. The building digs itself into a slope, opening up to the surroundings through the floor-to-ceiling glass façade on the playfully fanned-out front. In this way, the kindergarten blends in with nature in a very informal way - as if it had always been a part of it.

The design for the "Wieseneck" children's house in Goeppingen was penned by a+r Architekten. Our office worked on the work phases 6-8. The modern children's house with wooden facade extends the existing old building and becomes the new heart of the building complex. As if it were part of the garden itself, the extension of the children's house fits organically into the surrounding outdoor facilities: The curved structure finds its place between the old, untouched tree population.

The residential building project "Wohnquartier Südstadt" becomes an amazing solution to an ordinary, tension-free renovation task on an old row building. The result surprises and creates completely new spaces: By adding a multi-story arcade to the existing building, existing apartments are freed from noise pollution and extended by a communal open space in front of them.

No ordinary evening that continues to spur us to do the unusual

In addition to his speech in his role as chairman of the architectural association Goeppingen , our owner Christian Gaus is allowed to step in front of the audience four more times that evening to receive the awards. After a successful award ceremony and some inspiring conversations with colleagues of the profession, we leave the event - proud, grateful, joyful. Motivated. Motivated to tackle new projects with new approaches. Motivated to continue to pursue our claim: good architecture for people.

And while we are working on the current projects, we are preparing the presentation of some completed buildings to submit them for an award: to the selection committee for Exemplary Building in the Ostalbkreis.
