As part of the expansion to all-day care, the construction of a new cafeteria with adjoining rooms was on the agenda. The implementation of the extension was carried out as a joint project with a Stuttgart office Zoller Architekten. The school center had already been planned and realized by the office founder Alois Gaus.

Project data

The result is a simple building structure that incorporates the materials of the existing buildings through a combination of exposed precast concrete elements, plastered walls and meranti wood. This ensures that the new building integrates visually and functionally into the existing school ensemble. Large glass formats allow plenty of light to enter and create an overall natural and friendly ambience during lunchtime.

In addition to the dining hall and kitchen, further functional areas were realized as part of the room program. These include a multipurpose room, an office for school social work, rooms for media and projects, and a quiet and reading room. The complete room program is oriented to the requirements of all-day care.
