Our design combines functionality, aesthetics and sustainability in a forward-looking fire station. Clear structures, efficient processes and a resource-saving construction method create an efficient and identity-forming building.
Project dataUrban planning and architectural concept
Ourcompetition entry makes a striking statement at the southern entrance to the town and integrates harmoniously into the existing structure. The building complex is divided into three functional areas around a central courtyard and provides an efficient separation between the emergency services and the residential environment. The hose and training tower makes the function of the fire station visible, while well thought-out routes and clear zoning enable fast response times. The concept combines functionality, aesthetics and sustainability to create a modern and forward-looking solution for fire stations.
Development and use
Theaccess routes are optimally adapted to rescue operations and employee traffic. Vehicles can reach the site directly from the B3, while staff parking spaces and other parking areas are efficiently arranged. The spacious foyer with historic vehicle serves as a prestigious reception area and central distribution point. The organization of the alarm and operating procedures follows a clear, logical structure for maximum efficiency and safety.
Open space and sustainability
Theoutdoor facilities are functionally designed and minimize sealed surfaces. Rainwater is collected in a cistern and used for irrigation. The tree population is largely preserved, with new plantings replacing trees that have been removed. This creates a sustainable, natural environment with a high quality of stay.
Construction & materiality
Thebuilding is being erected as a sustainable timber construction with a high degree of prefabrication, which enables a fast construction time. The vertical timber cladding of the façade gives the building a striking, lively structure. The monopitch roof integrates harmoniously into the overall concept and optimizes drainage, while generous roof overhangs create protected areas for operations.
