Double award: ICONIC AWARDS 2025

The Iconic Award, one of the most prestigious awards in the fields of architecture, interior design, product design and brand communication, recognizes outstanding design innovations and pioneering projects worldwide. Organized by the German Design Council, the award is regarded internationally as a seal of quality for aesthetic excellence, innovative strength and sustainability.

We are therefore all the more delighted that GAUS has been nominated for the Iconic Award with two projects this year: the architecturally sophisticated administration and production building syNeo and the successful interior of the Überlingen residential and commercial building.

Residential and commercial building Überlingen

Our Überlingen residential and commercial building project won an impressive award in the Interior category of the Iconic Award. The harmonious interplay between the historic building and modern design, which creates a touching atmosphere and makes the unique character of the building visible, was particularly praised.

The interior of the building is permeable, inviting and deliberately designed to preserve the soulfulness of the place. Old wooden beams, historic pieces of furniture and architectural insignia have not only been restored, but cleverly integrated into new areas of use - from the bar and seminar zones to lounges with views of Lake Constance. The result is a space that tells a story with care and at the same time looks to the future.

syNeo Cosmetics administration and production building, Albershausen

Our "syNeo Cosmetics administration and production building" project in Albershausen received an award in the Architecture category - an accolade that impressively underlines our architectural vision and innovative strength.

The design combines administration, production and storage areas in a clearly structured, three-storey building - separated only by a precisely placed joint - and thus creates a functional and aesthetically pleasing ensemble. The extensive green roof, the generous dimensions of around 74 m in length and 55 m in width and the part of the hall that is partially dug into the slope give the building an impressive presence in the landscape of the Swabian Alb.

Particularly noteworthy: The design combines robust solid construction with semi-finished hall construction, user-friendly functional design and creative sophistication. The lighting, topographical embedding and choice of materials create a balance between innovation, sustainability and regional reference.

The fauna frames the building with fruit trees and wild meadows, which emphasizes the outdoor areas as pleasant retreats for employees - a further expression of our holistic approach to designing working environments.
