As a foundation member of the German Design Council, we are represented in the current issue of the publication "The Major German Brands", which this year is dedicated to the topic of "Pushing Circular Design". This year's edition highlights the importance of the circular transformation of the economy and emphasizes the role of design as the key to shaping a sustainable future. The publication underlines the innovative strength of German brands, which not only stand up to global competition, but are also characterized by a strong commitment to sustainability.

Since 2013, "The Major German Brands" has documented the successes and developments of German brands every year, focusing on different key topics. The current issue particularly emphasizes the decoupling of economic growth and resource consumption, which is seen as an essential step on the way to a sustainable economy. The presentation of this circular economic concept illustrates how established brands are driving the necessary change through a clear stance.

On November 7, 2024, the publication of the new issue was celebrated as part of the Design Gala at Soho House Berlin. The event provided a platform for leading representatives from industry, politics and culture, who recognized the publication's new direction as a forward-looking impulse. Our representative Saskia Gaus took part in the evening, which was characterized by inspiring discussions and valuable encounters. The response to the topic of circular design was consistently positive and shows the relevance of this approach.

The Design Gala enabled an intensive exchange between up-and-coming talents and experienced professionals from various disciplines. These encounters impressively demonstrated that an interdisciplinary dialog and a shared vision are key drivers of change. The concept of circular design, which is the focus of this year's edition of "The Major German Brands", was recognized as an essential building block for the future viability of the German brand landscape.

We would like to thank the German Design Council for the successful event and for welcoming us into a committed community. As a member of the foundation, we see it as an obligation and an enrichment to be part of this project and to actively contribute to the sustainable design of the economy.
