Mögglingen - Fire Station Inaugurated

With the dedication of the new fire station, Mögglingen has successfully completed an important project for the future. The new building, which cost approximately 4.7 million euros and received 1.3 million euros in state funding, replaces the fire station that was over 60 years old and no longer met today’s requirements for space, hygiene, and operational procedures.
The new building features modern vehicle bays, training rooms, workshops, and state-of-the-art changing rooms and restrooms. This will significantly improve working conditions for the fire department and ensure its operational readiness in the long term. Mayor Adrian Schlenker described the project as a necessary investment in the community’s safety.
The firefighters themselves made a crucial contribution to the project’s success: they contributed approximately 2,500 hours of volunteer work toward the construction and move. The Friends of the Fire Department also provided significant support for the project and funded an additional extension for the historic fire truck.
The opening was celebrated over two days with a big festival. In addition to the official ceremony, a solstice bonfire, and a public viewing event, visitors were able to tour the new fire station during the open house. Demonstrations by the emergency response teams, the youth fire brigade, an animal rescue, and presentations by the ERHT group showcased the work of the fire department. The THW, police, and Malteser also presented themselves along a “blue light mile.” Historic fire trucks and hands-on activities for children provided additional attractions.
The new fire station thus represents not only modern infrastructure, but also the strong sense of community, volunteerism, and dedication of the Mögglingen Fire Department and its supporters.
