The school in the Ursenwang district of Göppingen dates back to the sixties. The building complex required comprehensive facade refurbishment. The project was implemented in three construction phases.

Project data

For its part, a high-quality white crushed quartzite concrete facing was used as a design element. After a comprehensive concrete refurbishment, this facing is back in its original condition. The light color scheme corresponds to the winning design of the predecessor firm Gaus & Unfried, which emerged from a competition. Alois Gaus was responsible for the realization of the school at the time.

As part of the renovation, the school's own gymnasium and the part of the building with the janitor's apartment were renewed in addition to the school and administration rooms. After the refurbishment, the fire protection is up to date. The facades and roofs of the buildings were renovated. In addition, the flat roofs were extensively greened. A photovoltaic system was installed on the highest roof surfaces. The approved budget was undercut by around 20 percent.
