Bizet school campus in Suessen. An innovative planning concept for a future-oriented campus.
The competition entry provides for specialist rooms, classrooms, school administration, a canteen with kitchen and cafeteria as well as rooms for all-day care in three interconnected buildings. The new extension will accommodate the secondary school, community school and the special education and counseling center (SBBZ). The concept convinced the jury and is now being implemented.
Project data
The design organizes the campus into several clearly structured buildings that blend naturally into the existing school site. This arrangement creates clear pathways as well as sheltered courtyards and open spaces that serve as places to linger and meet. The open campus structure promotes both interaction and orientation.
Room layout and use
The new buildings will house classrooms and specialist rooms, administrative areas, a cafeteria with kitchen and cafeteria, and areas for all-day care. In future, the campus will be shared by the secondary school, the comprehensive school, and the special education and counseling center (SBBZ). The rooms are designed to be flexible and can be used for a variety of educational purposes.

The goal is to give the school complex an identity that accommodates different schools but is perceived as a single entity.
