1st rank and contract award in the negotiated procedure for a daycare center in Kiel
Space for education and meeting
Education, encounters and exercise high up in the north of Germany: we have been awarded the contract to plan and build a new daycare center in the state capital Kiel!
We look forward to working with the Gesellschaft für Ortsentwicklung und Stadterneuerung and the sponsor "Kita - Hand in Hand" gGmbH to create a new, sustainable place where the youngest of our society can live, learn and grow.
The project kickoff will take place in June. The new building will be constructed on a ball field surrounded by residential development with a view of the mouth of the Schwentine River into the Baltic Sea.
What appeals to me about the project are the special conditions on site and the challenge of carefully integrating the building into the village on what is literally a greenfield site.

Why Kiel?
With our flagship project Tübingen-Lustnau fire station - a fire station built entirely from wood - we were already on site at Kiel as part of an exhibition by the Zero Waste Initiative. Climate-friendly construction - a topic that unites us.
But even apart from that, northern Germany has been appealing to us for quite some time - so far, most of our projects have taken place in the southern part of the country. We don't want that to be the case forever.
