A modern rescue center is being built in Rudersberg, which will unite the fire department and Red Cross in a single building in future, creating the ideal conditions for rapid assistance and efficient cooperation. After years of preliminary planning, intensive discussions and necessary savings, the local council gave its clear approval to the project, which costs around 13.5 million euros, because it is seen as an essential investment in safety and the future. The building is planned to be sustainable - with timber construction elements, a green roof and photovoltaics - and offers modern working conditions that meet the high demands of the emergency services. Despite the need for loans and the great financial responsibility, the municipality believes that the new building is the best solution, as renovating the old, dilapidated equipment shed would be significantly more expensive in the long term. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2026, meaning that the new rescue center could be ready for use by the end of 2028.
