The new fire station in Mögglingen will be inaugurated this weekend. The municipality invested approximately 4.7 million euros in the new building, of which 1.3 million euros came from state grants. The old fire station was no longer able to meet today’s requirements: it lacked space, modern sanitation facilities, and sufficiently large vehicle parking spaces.

The new building offers modern response and training rooms, space for four emergency vehicles, workshops, and improved changing rooms and restroom facilities. The youth and children’s fire departments, in particular, benefit from the new facilities.

The firefighters themselves made a major contribution: they volunteered approximately 2,500 hours of their time, including work on interior construction and the move. The Friends of the Fire Department also provided significant support for the project and funded an additional extension for the historic fire truck.

Mayor Adrian Schlenker describes the fire station as a necessary investment in the community’s safety and the future of the fire department. The building also symbolizes the strong sense of unity and volunteer spirit of the Mögglingen Fire Department.

Inauguration Program

  • Saturday, June 20: Official ceremony starting at 4 p.m., followed by the Midsummer Festival and a broadcast of the German national team’s European Championship match.
  • Sunday, June 21: Open House featuring training exercises, demonstrations, a play area for children, and refreshments.

In the future, the new fire station is intended to serve not only as an operational base but also as a place for training, camaraderie, and community.
