Groundbreaking ceremony in Todtnau

The groundbreaking ceremony on June 8, 2026, marks the official start of a major infrastructure project for the town of Todtnau: The construction of a new fire station on the site of the former bus station will lay the foundation for a modern, efficient, and future-proof fire department. The new location stands out for its central location, excellent transportation links, and ideal conditions for efficient emergency operations.

The building was designed in close collaboration with the volunteer fire department, the city administration, and the relevant specialist planners. The design focused on functional workflows, short distances during emergency response, and modern working and training conditions for the emergency personnel. In addition to a modern vehicle garage, the facility will feature spacious changing and break rooms, training rooms, and areas for training and drills.

With this new building, the city is responding to the increased demands placed on the fire department and replacing the existing fire station, which no longer meets today’s spatial and functional needs. The new fire station will provide optimal conditions for the volunteer firefighters while also serving as a visible symbol of appreciation for their indispensable dedication.

The groundbreaking ceremony marks the start of a major investment in the safety of Todtnau’s residents. Together with all project stakeholders, we look forward to the upcoming construction phase and to successfully completing this forward-looking project.
