On July 19, 2024, a special highlight took place at the Raumgalerie Stuttgart as part of the Federal Foundation of Baukultur's summer tour. Under the title "EINSEINSZWEI - Feuerwehrarchitektur", experts and interested parties came together for an inspiring exchange on building culture. The event in Stuttgart marked the twelfth stop on the Federal Foundation of Baukultur's summer tour.

We have been a proud member of the Baukultur Foundation since 2016 and are actively involved in the promotion and visualization of Baukultur in Germany. The event began with a welcome from Christian Gaus from Gaus Architekten, Thomas Geuder from Raumgalerie Stuttgart and Reiner Nagel, Chairman of the Federal Foundation of Baukultur. Max Kaldenhoff from the Federal Foundation of Baukultur presented the Baukultur Report 24/25 on the topic of "Infrastructures" and emphasized the importance of sustainable construction projects and well-planned infrastructures for our society.

The highlight of the evening was the gallery talk, moderated by Thomas Geuder. Participants such as Boris Palmer, Lord Mayor of Tübingen, Christian Gaus, Reiner Nagel and Stefanie Weidner discussed topics such as sustainability in the construction industry, social issues and the importance of design and aesthetics in buildings. The challenges and opportunities of interdisciplinary planning were particularly emphasized. The panelists emphasized that construction projects should not only be functional, but also aesthetically pleasing in order to create long-term added value.

An important insight from the evening was that infrastructure buildings are not only of great importance for living together, but also shape spaces and therefore need to be well designed. The discussion about the fire station built by Gaus Architekten in Tübingen-Lustnau provided exciting insights into the planning and construction phase of such projects.

The event concluded with a cozy get-together over drinks, where participants had the opportunity to discuss the topics in greater depth and network. The event in Stuttgart was impressive proof of how important it is to promote and discuss building culture. Through committed exchange and interdisciplinary cooperation, outstanding solutions can be found for the challenges of our time.

We look forward to more inspiring stops on the summer tour and to continuing the discussions about sustainable and aesthetically pleasing building projects. Many thanks to the visitors and our panelists: Reiner Nagel (Bundesstiftung Baukultur), Stefanie Weidner (Dr.-Ing.) (Werner Sobek), Christian Gaus (Gaus Architekten), Thomas Geuder (Der Raumjournalist) and Boris Palmer (OB Tübingen). The visit to the Federal Foundation for Building Culture was another highlight that impressively underlined the importance of well-designed infrastructures.
